I had a question about getting the best medical experience through volunteering. When I was in High School and had aspirations to be a Doctor I started to volunteer at the local hospital to try to get some exposure to medicine.

After getting there I was only able to start off working at the hospital store as a volunteer sort of defeating the purpose of getting experience working along doctors and other medical staff. Either way since my time is valuable, sharing between my Air Force duties and my family what would you guys suggest would be the best place to shadow a doctor or get other exposure to what we would be doing as doctors.

I also have an option of shadowing a flight doc but again that is only a part of a small medical community, one that I would not be part off after my retirement from the Air Force? Thank you.

Thanks Fogie, I looked at the site very helpful. I am currently moving to Georgia and when I get there I am pretty sure there will be opportunities to find some Mentoring.

I highly recommend trying an ER.
