I currently have an opportunity to volunteer in the pediatric oncology unit at my local children's hospital. I currently work as a scribe in the children's emergency department as well. Would volunteering in a hospice/nursing home or shelter be better since I will have about a year and a half of scribing by the time I apply? I would really like to interact with the unfortunate children in the oncology unit, but I only have time for one.

Do whatever you enjoy the most. That activity will be a better use of your time and naturally lend itself to more meaningful discussion in the application process.
