Just got a string of VSLO rejections today, all for IM subspecialties. I have 3 rotation slots open before my school mandated EM rotation, during which ERAS opens. One of those slots is full with an IM subspecialty rotation that was outpatient and obtained outside of VSLO.

I don't know what to do about those other 2 slots though. I sent two more subspecialty rotations today but otherwise I got decimated on my 2nd slot applications. Should I seek more outpatient rotations, or do I continue trying with VSLO? I am applying IM. If it matters, per the school rules, I may start my second slot either 7/22 or 7/29.

What osminog said. Some programs you apply directly through their website or by contacting the program coordinator. 2/4 of my audition rotations were that way. You can also apply on clinician nexus for HCA programs

Away rotations in IM are a waste of time.. do places that don’t do VSLO, which are mainly the non academic programs and rotate there if you really need to be at a certain place geographically for your 4th year. Otherwise it’s useless for actually matching at a specific program in IM

Try clinician nexus! VSLO was super disheartening for me. You'll get a lot more out of ClinicianNexus.
