so what happens if i retake the class and don't even end up with an A?
is it over for me then? is that even worse than taking the C and getting it over with?

Retaking and getting below an A would be less than ideal, but would you rather have a W (not factored) with a retake of a B (3.0) factored into your GPA, or a C? (2.0)
If you think you'll get a C or below, you should probably withdraw, but realize that you'll have to make sure you can put your absolute best foot forward when you retake.
I would think a W followed by a C would look worse than just a C, at least on the surface, but this may depend on the circumstances for the W. Try to get at least a B if you withdraw and retake.

calm down ...it sortof sounds like you WANT it to be over
if you don't think you can get a B or higher the second time u take the class you should just take the C and move on though in general i would say man up, take the C, move on and learn from your mistake
