W vs WC

I recently withdrew from a foreign language class because I was sick for 2 weeks and had to miss class which hurt my grade. My advisor said I can apply for a “WC” to replace the “W” since I withdrew because I was sick. WC is withdrawal with cause.

Does it make a difference to ADCOM?

I've never, ever seen WC. I doubt that it would appear on an AMCAS or AACOMAS form!

Might as well apply for it to make it official but IDT it would matter especially if you only have one W. I think the schools that care ask you to explain it in their secondary and those that don't, don't. No one has asked about my W and I've interviewed at both 'types' of school
