I loved this christmas. Since I have some acceptances I got a brand new amazing stethoscope and a bunch of scrubs. Its a good feeling to know that family is proud of all that hard work. 😀

isnt gloating one of the seven deadly sins.

hmm, not sure about that one. but i'm pretty sure being a cowboy fan is

as much as i despise the cowboys, i am a UT fan (my dad went there). and since i live in san diego, and they are in the holiday bowl it seems like every other year at the least....I'll be goin to the game on thursday!! hook 'em horns

dear newb. I was merely commenting on this day, when Christ was born that not only have I been blessed and thankful for what I have been given but also opened a door for others who have been accepted to post things they may have gotten on Christmas that symbolizes their acheivment by gaining an admission. 🙄

lol my mom wanted to get my a stethoscope, but i wear hearing aids, so i was like umm mom u better let me do the picking on this one.

Lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride.

Or in Latin: Luxuria, gula, avaritia, acedia, invidia, and superbia

Wanna know the contrary virtues?

humility, kindness, abstinence, chastity, patience, liberality, diligence

Cardinal Virtues: Justice, temperance, courage, prudence

Theological Virtues: love, hope, faith.

Thank you to 13 years of Catholic School.

I forget the heavenly virtues though, go figure. I remember faith, love, hope, charity, justice, prudence. And a quick search reminds me of temperance and fortitude.

Geez, a blast from religion class' past.

Pride would arguably cover gloating. And we never covered it in (protestant) sunday school.

A recap:
pride
anger/wrath
greed
gluttony
lust
envy
sloth

be careful here meow... being thankful for receiving something is not pride. Pride in the seven deadly sins context is much different than the "pride" mentioned by the OP.

Wow Meg, you just brought on a slew of memories from religion class in Catholic school. I could have never remembered that. But you did remind me of the nun who pushed her keyboard on a cart into each classroom for music class each week and we would practice the Friday mass hymns for music class and we learned how to play the harpsichord instead of the recorder. And then it brought on this memory of when I decided to wear biker shorts (It was the 80s) to our Christmas band recital and thought I was cool until the band teacher threw a fit and mede me go home and change. Those were the days.

So glad for you, and I did not take it as gloating! I hope I receive the same next Christmas. Grads!
