I have 25 years and 2 university degree. My overall gpa is 3.84 and 4.00 in my 2 concentrations. I've been this year off without studying. I took the MCAT 4 times, my third time take a 18. I wasn't accepted into medical school of PR. I returned to take the MCAT and take 22. Please help me make a decision, applied again to the medical school of PR that the cost is 5,500 per year, but have to wait another year or I'm going to study medicine to Mexico or Santo Domingo?

Hi there, your mcat is slightly above average at the private schools on PR(ponce, SJB,UCC ). The average mcat at the UPR Medical Science campus last year was around 24. Also you must know that the UPR only chooses people with strong ties to Puerto Rico and the tuition right now is at 9500 +3500(required tablet pc ) for first year medical students. I would suggest that you call the schools and ask them about your chances and how you will be affected by your multiple mcat retakes. Any question feel free to give me a pm.

Good luck!

my guess is mexico. I have met some pretty good doctors coming out of there. Never met any PR or DR physicians but my guess is that Mexico is more widely accepted (At least in South America).
