Waiting for an invite

I know there are a few posts about this but I was wondering how long the average wait period is from when you submitted your complete application and when they invite you to an interview. I just turned them all in at the beginning of the month so I know I have a minute to wait but HOW LONG?! Going nuts! 😱

Anyone recently apply and get invited? How do they invite you? Email? Snail mail letter? I don't have the best stats but they are competitive---- 3.1 GPA, 350 OAT, bio major, philosophy minor, shadowed/worked for OD for >1yr, now work in market research for the ophthalmic market....

I'm applying to SCCO, UMSL, ICO, NECO, & PCO. Insights appreciated.

I only applied to UMSL. My application was complete in mid-Nov when I took the OAT. They got the scores in two weeks and emailed me the following week (Dec 6) inviting me for an interview. I interviewed two weeks later and they informed me by email the next day that I was accepted. I got an official letter in the mail a couple weeks later.
Sorry I can't help you with the other schools. I'm sure every school is different.

hey, I think it is different for every person. I can really understand you... I went crazy waiting too and asking myself everyday what will happen. I applied to SUNY around end of September and I got an interview call January 12....so about 3 months but finally got it (had to retake OATs).

I applied to PCO around mid to end of November and got an interview call about a month later like end of December (probably because there was the Thanksgiving and Christmas break).

PCO would send you an email about the interview and the acceptance first. I was so surprised how excited for them to let me know about my admission progress. I heard back from PCO in three weeks.

My impression about NECO was a bit bad. When I called them up to make sure they got everything they need, lady who answered the call was kind of rude and didn't have a clue whether all of my recommendations were in file. And besides I applied NECO in mid-Oct, I heard back from them in mid-Dec.

BUt I wouldn't worry too much if I were you because I heard that some students are even invited in Feb and March from PCO and NECO students.

dont worry, the right OD school will call you. got a call for PCO on november and i was intervewed on December 20th.

i love your OAT's..... nice job. you beat me by 30 pts. i blew away the sciences but the RC and QR dropped my score. 😕

not sure if this is true for all schools, but I know some of them wait and review applications in groups (ex. every week/two weeks, etc) then send out notifications for interviews if you're qualified or set your application aside for later review if you're not
I sent in my applications late november and was invited for an interview to SCCO early december by email, SUNY mid december by mail, & NECO and ICO late december by mail. hope that helps and good luck!

Thanks cherryplum. And everyone else for support. I am STILL waiting and checking my email like crazy. I know that they have reviewed my application already (SCCO and UMSL told me) but now I dont know what they are waiting for!!! Everyone around me is telling me to chill but that is impossible. Just need to vent to people who understand. I guess it has only been two weeks and all I can do is sit here and wait and hope.

Here's the UPDATE:

it's been about 3 weeks and I FINALLY got an invitation for an interview. I'm so excited..... and now freaking out. I have to pick the date so I'll let you all know.

I will admit that I am not applying in the conventional way. I have to pay for my own application fees amongst other bills and so I am trying to do them in tandum when the $$ allows me. So I just sent a the last few off last week so I'll report back my wait times too. Hopefully they will ask me to interview as well. Thanks everyone for help. Wish me luck!!!!!
