Hi,
If you are put on a waiting list, is there any way to move yourself up the list, or to get accepted?

There is a classic old British film, Kind Hearts and Coronets, a comedy starring Alec Guiness, He plays the role of a low-ranked member of a family of minor nobility. The death of the holder of the coronet inspires Alec to systematically kill off all of the claimants with seniority over him. Worth emulating, perhaps?
