I am currently on the waitlist for the MHS program in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

I have no idea what the waitlist means. Does anyone have experience with the JHSPH waitlist or know if most people get in/dont get in off the waitlist.

I am confused as to whether I need to look for a job or try to take classes as a
non degree student or if my best bet is to wait the summer and see if I get in.

Thanks!

No worries, theyre just playing hard to get. They're probably waiting for you to juice the pot a little...

I'd always have a plan B unless you have a fall back program that you are accepted into that is a backup.

Waitlist just means that they are not able to accept you for one or more than one reason:
a) you submitted late and there are too many applications for a very limited number of seats left
b) there are no seats left and you are on the list to be added in if one opens up
c) your stats aren't very competitive but you meet their requirements and there are still some more applications to read so they'll review them all before making their decision
d) what americanpierg said and they just want you to sit and stew for a bit

I see, what do you mean by juice the pot?

Is there anything I should do in the mean time, like email the admissions committee or mail them another rec letter or personal statement?

Thanks for the quick responses
