Hey all,

Like some here, I have a few waitlists to fret over for a while. I noticed in the pre-allo forum they have a thread indicating typical schools and movement from waitlists...based on past years. I've tried to research this information for DO schools, but could not find information.

Does anyone know of the movement off waitlist, typical for osteopathic schools? I'm most interested in DMU? Thanks.

Anyone? Any information on what you've heard about waitlist movements from DO school? Any schools move more than others? Anyone? I feel like Ben Stein...Bueller....Bueller...Bueller...

I am interested in UNECOM's waitlist movement. Don't have any acceptances so far, so that's all I have to hold on to (other than KCOM making up it's mind about me). 🙁

As for DMU, I know they are still interviewing. Infact, I have my interview on 04/01.Now that I know that bigdreamer is on that waitlist, I feel like i am interviewing for a waitlist. 🙁 🙁 🙁

There is no hope for me.

I guess we just sit here and wait and twiddle our thumbs. Although, you can bone up for your interview. It is very low stress there luckily. I had my interview recently also, so I reckon that they are just iterviewing for waitlist now?

Hello. I tried starting a waitlist thread two weeks ago, but no one ever answered. I wanted to find out how many people are waitlisted and see if there's any movement. I'm on the waitlist and NYCOM. The admissions staff said that they anticipate movement this year (last year there wasn't any, 2 years ago there was a lot of movement). I hear that if you write a LOI it may help. Good luck!

i didn't get accepted until the last week of june, one of my classmate got accepted a week before school started

Maybe a mod could make a sticky for this forum with waitlist information. That information and questions about it wouldn't keep disapearing because they go unanswered.

All I know about DMU is that typically there is not a lot of movement.

That's what I hoped would happen with my early post...i was the only one in it and had to bump myself...anyway, if there's a moderator reading this, can we get a sticky?

Also, I dont' know if this would help, but a doc I work with is good friends with the dean at the school I'm waitlisted at and offered to make a phone call for me. Does anyone actually think that will help? At this point I figure it can't hurt. I'm sending a LOI this week too.

Although, I was bummed to hear that DMU seems to have little movement...rats!

Well, not that it matters anyhow, I'm in the US reserve armed forces and was deployed shortly after only two interviews this year anyhow. One acceptance (Carib, not to psyched) and waitlist from DMU. I really want DMU. I had two more invites from DO schools but could not attend due to my being sipped overseas. However, I'd have to defer matriculation for another year anyhow even if they did offer acceptance since I my military orders will keep me overseas here for about 10 more months! But, that's never for sure either. Just when I was closing in on this process...whammo, curve ball.

But we will see, strange things could happen, lucky for me I'm an optimist!

Just called UMDNJ today (Wed 3/24) and they said there has not been any waitlist movement yet.

How often can one call an adcom without becoming a pain in the a$$? I called about two weeks ago, but have some additional questions and a LOI that I'd like to send to NYCOM. I'll ask about waitlist movement also while I'm at it.

MSUCOM should be sending a letter out to all waitlisted applicants within the next 2 weeks to let them know which quartile they are in, but they are not allowed to tell us our rank due to changes in policy. No movement occurs until May and Early June and trickle throughout the summer after that.

I interviewed at KCOM on 3/1 and received my acceptance package on 3/10. I was not placed on KCOM's waitlist, but am still waiting (rather impatiently) to hear about NYCOM's waitlist movement. They are my number one choice right now, but I'm still very excited to be accepted to 'the Mecca' as my docs like to call it.

for any TUCOM hopefuls...i interviewed in early March and was put on the waitlist approx two weeks ago. on monday i got an acceptance letter, so there's hope!

dr. haight also mentioned the idea that there would be a lot of waitlist movement this year due to the LV campus and such...

I interviewed at WVSOM last October, got a letter within two weeks telling me that I was waitlisted. I just got my letter of acceptance yesterday. I will have to decline though as I have been accepted to VCOM and will be going there. Oh well WVSOM's loss. Anyway this is an indication that the waitlist is moving at WVSOM.

As far as LECOM, they've maxed out their class of 2008, so I don't think there will be much movement. Last year there was some but minimal. Keep the faith, I'm prayin for you guys!

In the letter I got from Dr. Haight, the committee won't start picking off the list around late June early July. The interview process ends this week, with the committee voting tomorrow. Those accepted will be the last from this last round. So, if Admissions really does hold firm to requiring the 2K deposit 2 weeks after the date the letter is sent out; that means that TUCOM-Vegas should at least have deposits from those who intend to go...in theory. That date is Friday, 6/24. I would expect whatever movement to start after that date. I'm waiting too, so I wish you the best.
