Not entirely a serious thread, but I figured if we got interview/rejection thread...

A possible useful angle on this comical issue could be:
1) Somebody cancels interview (I got 19, I have start refusing)
2) Somebody else, coordinates/communicates, perhaps through this board
3) They call to "check up on the status of their application" the same day...SCORE! Got the spot!

And now from idealism to the real world...

UMD said they ran out of spots once I called to schedule
HOPKINS said they'll call me when something comes up.

A friend of mine just got an interview from Hopkins off the waiting list

MGH said they'd call if something opens up although it was unlikely

Looks like I will be canceling Maryland today.... I'm couples matching and my other half hasn't gotten an interview there.

i agree with the original poster. it seems as though places are giving out more interviews than spots... im on the waitlist at tufts.. though the secretary mentioned that people do cancel. its just a matter of
when. im on the waitlist at hopkins also and dont plan on getting off of it....

On "hold" at Oregon, Maine, South Carolina, Duke and UNC, and Tulane. Unsure of status at Ohio State, West Virginia, UC Davis and U. of Wash.
