Waitlist question

If you get put on a waitlist, does this happen after an interview, or does the school wait until you're off the waitlist to interview you?

Usually after the interview. I've never heard of it happening before the interview, but I suppose it's possible.

Some schools have a interview waitlist as well.

I was interviewed, and then told I had been waitlisted. 🙁
