Hey guys I'm in a weird gray area right now and I'm not sure what to do.

In short, I applied in the 2024-2025 cycle and got 5 interviews and 5 waitlists. I'm currently sitting on 3 waitlists still but still no news.

I had a call with the dean of one of the schools that interviewed me and rejected me off waitlist and she said my app was great. She said my MCAT was great (517), my ECs were good, my writing was great and that I'm a great writer, and my interview reports said I interviewed really well.

She said there's not much I can improve on but I still have no results to show for it. With the 2024-2025 cycle open up now, I'm getting ready to reapply.

Would it be bad to submit the same primary application? The dean said my writing was great and I had pretty good results (5 interviews) but couldn't get an A. I thought maybe it was my interviews but I thought I did well on all of them and the dean even said I did well according to the interview report.

What are your thoughts?? I'm honestly in such a limbo and I'm trying to muster up enough energy to reapply but it's so draining especially when I don't know what I would even change 🙁

We don't have a WAMC profile, so it's hard to say what else you can improve. You should have added more clinical and service orientation hours throughout the cycle so your potential reapp would be stronger.

I generally find that if you can't close with an offer, you didn't show mission fit strongly enough (compared to those who ultimately got offers). You can be the best candidate in the pool and still not get an offer. Could your letters be stronger? Probably, but who knows? Keep hoping because finishing with 5 waitlists are hopeful odds.
