Does anybody know what the chances are in getting in when you are on the waitlist? I know my number is 6, but what is the chance that 6 people would not decide to accept an offer? Has anybody gotten in when being that high on the waitlist?

Which waitlist (school? in state or out of state?)

Tuskegee, and I live in maryland

i think waitlists are something that can vary *wildly* from school to school :-/

some schools may have 30-50+ people on their waitlist, and some, like UF, generally limit it to 20. however, being number 6 on the waitlist sounds extremely good to me 🙂 and i honestly think the chances of 6 people declining their positions are high. i know at UF, they send out like 15ish acceptances for out of staters, and yet the final class is only ever made up of like 7-8 out of staters. so there you have at least 6-7 spots. UF won't tell me what number i am on their alternate list, i could only hope to be number 6!!!

anyway, everyone ive talked to said that being on a waitlist is generally a pretty good thing, so try not to worry too much!
good luck!!!!

Thanks a lot and good luck to you! That information you have provided is great and makes me more optomistic. That waitlist position can change if people on the waitlist ahead of me withdraw their applications correct?

You are correct here. If a person that is ahead of you on the waitlist withdraws their application then you move up from waitlist position #6 to waitlist position #5. I know nothing about the waitlist at Tuskegee, but, in general, position #6 would give you a great shot at getting in. You might consider calling the school as they may be able to tell you how many people typically get in off the waitlist each year.
Good luck!
