Waitlisted at multiple schools..

I was fortunate enough to get quite a few interviews for this cycle. I have been wait listed at 4 schools as of now and have yet to hear back from one that I interviewed at. I was wondering if this means I should start preparing for next cycle.?? Anyone else in a similar situation???

i think april 1st people with multiple deposits have to give up all but one school....so maybe some movement then?? oh well..u did one application, a second wont take as long!..that's what i found anyway

You should call, write and visit those schools. The odds of getting off the wiatlist at one out of 4 schools is pretty high, especially if they're expensive private schools. DONT GIVE UP! Word hard to get in contact with them and try to secure a seat somewhere. if you try hard you will NOT be denied! 👍

Hey wired, what do you mean "try to secure a seat"? What can someone do to accomplish this?

I was accepted to Midwestern-AZ today off of the wait-list. It can happen (although I didn't really believe that until today). My advice to you is to contact the people you interviewed with directly and tell them how interested you are in the school, even though you are on the wait-list. My theory is they want to see who wants it the most. I contacted my interviewer at MWU yesterday and asked if there was anything else I could do to improve my application and then I told him that I was still sincerely interested in the school. I got a call the next day.

I already had everything prepared to reapply for next cycle though, so I would recommend preparing just in case. Good Luck! 👍

Hey wired, what do you mean "try to secure a seat"? What can someone do to accomplish this?

What I mean is that one should call the schools, visit them, email them, or even handwrite a letter to the Director of Admissions. The more you show you care, the more you're chances are to get off that list. You really have to show each school how badly you want them. Read the above comment about MWU-AZ. It really helps to get admitted, also the odds pretty high that one out of the 4 schools will accept you if they're a super expensive private schools like USC, Tufts, MWU-AZ or NYU

It's actually not pretty high for Tufts. Tufts accepts a large amount of those that interview, which makes it more difficult for the smaller number of people that are put onto the waitlist. I wouldn't say pretty high, though, unless you've got some numbers for the waitlist that I've not seen.

I agree that persistence is a good idea, but I would also make sure to not overdo it when trying to convey your interest in the school. I think it's good to check in, but you don't want to harass them to the point where they are sick of you.

I know NYU likes waitlisters who show lots of interest. Dr. Meijia told us that in case some of us ended up on the waitlist.

Don't lose hope but start thinking about reapplying. Anything can happen, especially when second deposits are due. A lot of seats will open up then. If you don't get in this year, you'll hammer it home next year for sure.

I have not been waitlisted at Case Western but continue to be under review. Does this mean I have a decent chance of getting accepted since last year they went to the waitlist? Can anyone answer this for me?
