So... I just got home and found out that I have been waitlisted at two schools Oklahoma and Baylor.

I am OOS for both school but really would like to be accepted to Oklahoma. Does anyone know how the OOS waitlist for Oklahoma works and do many people get off the waitlist?

Also, has anybody else been waitlisted with Oklahoma or Baylor, and if so, what are your stats?

Thanks

Hi Hope45!

I don't know how soon you can call, but there have been wait-listed applicants for Oklahoma who have called to ask about the process in previous cycles. I believe they let you know where you stand on the wait-list and sometimes give you the average number of applicants selected from the wait-list. I'm sorry if I didn't tell you anything new. I hope you hear good news soon! Good luck!

I was waitlisted at Baylor last year. Don't hold your breath on getting in. You might be part of the lucky 9-10 that get in off the wait list but the majority on there will be rejected. Very few people in Texas and out of state will reject Baylor because its a good school and tuition is cheap regardless of state status. Be optimistic but don't buy into the stories of people getting in a month before school starts. They're a dime in a dozen.

As for Oklahoma, I have no idea.

I was on the waitlist at OU last year and got in. I'm from Washington State. We have three people from Texas in our class as well. If this year is the same as the last, there are no post December interviews which means that you have a pretty good chance of getting in if you are waitlisted (OOS). There are even a few in our class that got rejected last year and then later accepted. This was mainly due to the new preDec-only interviews as last year was the first year that they tried it out.

My stats are 3.3-3.4 GPA for both science and overall and 22/23 - AA/TS. BTW if you choose OU you won't regret it. This school is really chill and our class really helps each other out all the time.

I was waitlisted at Baylor last year. I got waitlisted in April and only one person got in off the waitlist between then and the beginning of the school year. No luck for me 🙁 how did they notify you that you were waitlisted? I thought waitlists only started in April? I reapplied and reinterviewed and have yet to hear. :/

How do you know if you are waitlisted?

For Baylor or Oklahoma? Baylor says you're in an applicant pool or whatever after Dec. 1 and then the official wait list starts in like April. Honestly, the applicant pool might as well be a wait list because generally everyone who interviewed but didn't get in gets thrown on the list.

Does anyone know how many typically get in off waitlist for Oklahoma?
and how many do they put on waitlist?

No, but hopefully somebody will post that who was wait listed last year.

During the interview they said last year they offered 54 people acceptances out of state because so many declined... when i called the office i was told that for OOS its a very good place to be because they usually run to completion. I am not sure if that will work this year but i guess we will just have to wait and see:xf::xf:

thanks for the info! any idea how many got in last year from the waitlist & has anyone heard of anyone turning down Oklahoma yet? I am anxiously waiting!

Good luck to y'all in getting off of the waitlist! :luck:

So no one gets in off waitlist since they send out too many acceptances?

They said that last year pretty much everyone on the OOS wait list will hear back... they do not send out too many acceptances... they send out their first round to about 14 ppl... a lot of them turn it down so they send out more and a lot turn them down... and so on... so they end up sending out offers to a lot of people that are on the wait list...so i guess they send out not 54 acceptances it would be 54 total offers by the end of the entire cycle before their classes start

Has anyone received their official waitlist letter with a number?

only the first ten people get that

I was wondering if OU had actually sent the letter out to the first 10. I know someone had inferred they had gotten a letter but I wasn't convinced.

Has anyone heard anything from OU that is on the waitlist?
