Hey guys,

I'm a reapplicant to dental schools this cycle and I applied the first week of June. Ive interviewed at 5 schools and have been waitlisted at 3; still waiting to hear back from interviews at Rutgers and BU. I'm starting to get nervous about getting accepted this cycle but I can't think of what else I could do to improve my app.

My SMP gpa is 3.5+, 20AA/TS DAT, 100+ hours of shadowing, and a lot of extracurriculars/leadership/community service. I've mock interviewed with an admissions officer at my SMP and had my personal statement revised.

In the event I don't get in this cycle, the only thing I can think of is retaking my DAT. Anyone in a similar position/any thoughts?

I usually never like to say this but I think it might be something with your interviewing skills. Definitely something we all struggle with. Have you done a lot of practicing infront of the mirror, mock interviews etc etc? If you have any interviews coming up, ask @incisor for some help haha! He's the interview god. I honestly think interviewing skills may be holding you back. Because you're clearly good on paper.

I know exactly what you're going through and how you feel. You do not need to retake. Just keep waiting. I am hopeful you will land an acceptance.

There's nothing else you can do at the moment. It seems that you have the shadowing, EC, volunteering, and interviewing all accounted for.

Sit tight. It's only Jan. I've met so many people that were taken off the waitlist as late as May.
