Hey- I can't find a ton of information on Wake Forest's program. Anyone have any idea about vacation, hours, call, resident satisfaction, etc.? I've scoured their website and can't find it.

Thanks!

I know from reputation that they are an outstanding program. Yet, I'm not sure about the details either. Anyone care to elaborate?

UMMS FMD- I finally got my invite from WF about a week ago! Yay! 🙂

Did your invite come by ERAS email or by snail mail? I saw in the "rejections" thread that someone got a rejection from WF by snail mail today. (Haven't checked my snail mail today so I'm still holding out hope...)

Wake has a top notch training program. The residents are typically very happy (you'll see when you interview). Ask about hours when you go... detailed logs are kept (prob. average ~60 - more as an intern or on ICU). Call is typically 4-6 times per month but can vary depending on the rotation and clinical year.

Hey Serenity,

I received the invite via email. Good luck, and let me know if I can answer any specific questions.

What about vacation - is it really only 2 weeks for the first 2 years?

I thought it was "against the rules" to have less than 3 weeks/yr

Never heard any rule about that...one of the programs I've interviewed at gives 2 weeks to interns and 3 weeks to PGY-2 and above. I think it's institution-dependent and not so much department-dependent. Correct me if I'm wrong.

can I ask you what kinda USMLE scores you guys had to get interview? I am applying next year and was wondering....

They flat out told us when I interviewed (2005) that 220 was the cut off. Have no idea where it's at now. When I interviewed it was 2 weeks plus Christmas/New years time.

The magic number for Wake Forest is 225.
