Okay, So I called Wake today and asked them about the status of my application. They told me I was in their interview pool, but not their top interview pool. They said that if I don't receive an interview invite by the end of january then I basically won't recieve an interview at all which I guess means I am rejected. Has anyone heard this same thing? Does this mean I am screwed at Wake? Can anyone explain Wake's mysterious "interview pool" to me? If I don't get an interview at Wake I will be pissed. I have lived in Winston-salem for like the past 13 years, volunteered in their hospital through middle and high school, and even work there now doing research in the med school. Show me some love Wake.

yes that's true; they have 3 (sometimes I've heard 4) groups they put people in. They interview their first pool and see how many spots are left...and so on.

There are a ton of posts on this already... If you do a search you should find them pretty easily and they should answer your questions pretty well...

So if I understand this correctly, the conditional pool (which I guess I am in) only gets interviews if there are any left after the high priority pool gets offered interviews and are evaluated. I guess my best bet is to write some interest letters and pray.
