Our Committee on Admissions has carefully considered your application to The Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Since we realize that fixed selection criteria can eliminate an otherwise qualified applicant, your application was individually reviewed and evaluated. Because of the competitive qualifications of our applicants, we sincerely regret that we will be unable to accept your application this year.

Just posted in the rejection thread. Miffed how they said they "individually reviewed and evaluated" my app. I would have been happier to be rejected based on stats. Maybe there's something objectionable in my app that I don't know about? Ack. Think they really review our pre-secondary apps so in depth?

That first one really stings, but I think it will feel better when we start to get invites from other schools.

Well, look at the bright side...you saved 50 bucks >). Given that this is now my 3rd cycle (although first time applying to Wake), I fully expect to be rejected post secondary or perhaps even post interview if I'm really unlucky (although NC isn't that far to travel...). I don't even want to think about the money I've blown over the years.....

ah, sorry about that dude. i'm sure you've prepared even more this past year to get an acceptance this time around, and persistence means a lot in this game. the money's worth it.

for some bad news, i live a couple hours from Winstom-Salem in VA, and they had no qualms with rejecting me pre-sec...whatever.

Nice to see this thread and share the disappointment. Got my rejection last week, was kinda bummed to start out the application cycle like this. But I decided that since last time started out well and ended bad, maybe this is a good change. And yay for them saving us the supplemental fee, right?
