Has anyone heard anything about Wake Forest students not doing well on the USMLE's or having a poor match list? My friend just got off the waitlist and she asked the school for a copy of the match list and some data on how students do on the USLME. The school wouldn't give her either so now she's wondering why they would be so secretive. She asked me to post here to see if any of you have heard anything about Wake Forest... so anybody got any dirt on the school? 😀

relatively prime-

that's a good point you bring up. I've NEVER seen such info from Wake Forest and have actually been searching for it recently to no avail. Although this is true, I've never heard anything NEGATIVE about the USMLE or match list. Lots of people I've spoken to speak highly of WFU, however, and I've read in various places that their "national reputation and high board scores" help their students secure prestigious residency positions. I think I read that in the Princeton Review Guide to Med Schools or something (i know... that's not the greatest source). Anyways, WFU is my #1 choice outside of Cali anyways and I wouldn't really be bothered by any rumors regarding the USMLE and match list. I'm sure they can't be that bad.

Yes... but you gotta admit... it's shady that they aren't giving her the match list or USMLE data...

Here are some stats from US News:

Residency Program Admissions:

2001 graduates admitted to their first-choice residency program: 56.9%

2001 graduates admitted to one of their top three choices of residency programs: 74.3%

I wouldn't worry too much about them hiding something. I had to pull teeth to get the same info from UCLA. I think some schools just don't realize that students are really starting to want this information. Good luck 😀
