Wake Forest Status (confusing)

So, I got an update from Wake Forest, I havent called them since I got the secondary. But the status changed from

Your application is complete, please allow 1-2 weeks for your file to be reviewed.

TO

Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March.* If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview.

My question is, is that a hold?

I don't think that's a hold. I think you're just in the "wait for a possible interview" phase.

you see, they said they will NOW evaluate for interview status. so I don't think it's a hold

Is that being PC for rejections at this stage or is that actually like telling people that we need to call them to get the interview.

I think they are basically saying some will get an interview, some won't. I don't think this email tells us any final decision at the moment. Rather, I think they are trying to say our application is under review for an interview right now. My application was completed not too long ago, so it does make sense.

Today Wake Forest sent the same email to me. My LORs were not requested until October 2nd. So, I'm certain that its purpose was to notify applicants that their file is complete. Don't read too much into the choice of words.

Ok, I called; for me in fact it was a kind of a "hold" status. Basically what I was told was that my file has been reviewed but they cannot offer me an interview right now. The lady suggested I submit a letter of interest.

Again, just my story of what it mean when my status changed.

Speaking of which then, does anyone know how Wake handles their hold status.

The admissions office told me that I was on the "top priority interview list", but that october and november are full and they haven't started scheduling december yet. They asked for the best phone number to reach me at, and told me that they'd call when they started scheduling again.

Moral of the story...call!

Because of this, I'm calling every school I haven't heard from yet tomorrow.

I got the same status/email. in pretty sure its a hold. I called and was told it was in my best interest to submit a letter of interest. that was about a month ago.

My online status showed this msg, I called to ask for a status check and was told that my application was complete and that I was in the top interview pool.

God I hope you are right, since my status is the first one. I'm still waiting for my first interview.

Edit: Ok so I calmed down and read through this thread, and it seems like there isn't really any pattern to these messages.

i think one message follows the other. i am currently on the "complete" message. but i remember at one point i had the "now" message.

I don't believe so, as the only message I got was the "now" message, but they still told me that seeing me was a top priority.

I've had the "complete" message for a while now, but I just got the "now" message in an email. 😕

Just called them...was told that my packet went through the first wave of apps to be pulled for an interview and was 'waitlisted' to be put through subsequent waves of 'to be interviewed' rounds of packets🙁

I got the same thing when I called. I'm in an interview-able pile, but not the one they are currently interviewing from. I'm having a hard time seeing that as a good thing though.

I called today and they told me they can't interview me at this time. However they said call back in a month and they will see......

I see everyone else was told about what Pile they were in (Interview able, Top priority). I wasn't told anything about which pile I was in.


Does this mean HOLD????
