Wake Forest Waitlist

For those of you (like me 😕 ) that are on the waitlist at Wake Forest, what are your plans? Have you been sending update letters, letters of interest or intent, or nothing? Has anyone heard anything recently?

Is anyone planning to withdraw? I plan to remain on the waitlist until I receive an acceptance (currently on 2 waitlists with 1 interview coming up).

Please share your thoughts. The wait is absolutely killing me.

I too am languishing on the waitlist. Wake Forest is easily my first choice school and I immediately sent them a letter of intent. I also called them up to ask what else I could do to strengthen my case. They told me that beyond writing a letter on intent, I would just have to sit back and wait. They finish interviewing April 4th and don't expect any movement until late April. They told me to send an additional letter of continued interest around then too. Hang in there!!!!

I liked the place, but with another acceptance in hand, I'm not too sure about staying on the list. I sent them updates on my lab work in Jan and Feb, but nothing else since. Has anyone gotten off the waitlist yet?

Hey guys, all I can say is hang in there. I know that isn't what you want to be hearing right now, but odds are you won't be hearing back from Admissions until after May. The good news is that your odds of getting an acceptance are pretty good at Wake. In the meantime, continue to send in letters of intent, as I'm pretty sure that they carry weight with the AdCom.

I too have been placed on the Wake Forest Waitlist and it is so frustrating. I have sent them a couple of new letters of rec and an update/interest letter. I plan on writing them a letter of intent soon, since I would love to go there.

For those on the waitlist:

Does everyone get the same waitlist letter? Mine basically said that it was a pleasure to have me visit for an interview and that I had been placed on the alternate list. At committee meetings and when vacancies occur, files are reviewed for possible acceptance. If I have a particular interest to write to remain active. The list is not ranked, but 30-50% of the class is selected from the alternate list.

Does this sound like everyone else's letter? And have you guys been writing letters to the adcom? So far, I have written two letters of continuing interest and one update letter.

Hi Cocoabutter. I received a waitlist letter that sounds just like yours. It's my understanding that you MUST write if you wish to remain under consideration.
I would love to go to Wake Forest, too, so I'll stay on their alternate list until I receive an acceptance or their classes start, whichever comes first.

Does anyone know when the next Wake Forest committee meeting is? They apparantly review all waitlisted applicants at each committee meeting.
