Hi SDN Prosp. PharmDs,

I posted here to get you feedback on how I should do things tomorrow at the interview at Walgreens. I have been chasing this job for a while ow and I do not want to mess things up by looking or acting stupid. However, it is usually the subtle details of one's appearance that allow people to dislike or be turned off by them. The interview is approx. 20 min, but if I can make it longer, IM SET....

Ca anyone give some suggestion??

Just be honest with them... that's all anyone's ever looking for anyways, cliche as it sounds. I'm a pre-pharm and have been working as a tech with Walgreens for about 1 1/2 years while I gain pharmacy experience.

I've worked with a ridiculous number of pharmacists/techs/store managers/etc so, of course, things vary with varying personalities. I'd just worry about making sure you know where you're going, not rushing, and not being hungry... my stomach wouldn't stop growling during my interview! Haha

Thanks for FINALLY responding. A bit late thogh. got the job....

What if a "patient" asks for a pack of cigs too in the drive-thru? Does the pharmacist have to shop for them too?

Never had someone ask for ciggys... not that I'd even be able to do so. Though once in a while we'll have a manager bring back a pack of pipe tobacco for us to ring up for someone with their meds.

I do occasionally get people becoming pissy when I tell them I can't sell them Claritin-D in the drive-thru.

Personally, I play it by ear. IF we're not busy... and IF the patient asks nicely... I've been known to go grab something off the OTC shelf. Anything besides that? Nope.

And my mandatory reply "Can I get fries with that?"

At CVS I only one time got a non-medical item for a customer. She asked very nicely for a water, and I didn't have the heart to turn her down. I don't consider myself so important that I won't help someone out if I can. I have picked up some various OTC products here and there as well, not often. I absolutely would not go and get any tobacco products for a customer regardless of if they were in the drive thru or in the store.
