So, is it worth walking at graduation if your class is like 5k+? Just wondering on your thoughts.

You don't walk at graduation for yourself. You walk at graduation for your parents, classmates, professors, and relatives.
At my undergrad there was a main ceremony for everyone graduating (several thousand), and then smaller departmental ceremonies where your name is actually announced and you get a fake diploma because grades weren't even in yet by graduation. Only about 100 engineers graduated, so thats all I actually walked with. You sure your school doesn't do the same?
And yeah, its really for parents/family.
College graduation felt like HS graduation to me, maybe because I know I'm just moving on to more schooling.
I didn't walk in mine. I told my family they could come to my medical school graduation. Also they came to my white coat ceremony. Graduating from college just didn't seem like a big deal to me. College is the new high school.
I agree with you. I am the first BS recipient in my family.Kind of depressing how few people feel like college is a big deal any more. I guess when you're from a town where you could count on your hands how many people held degrees... heh, well. Different worlds I suppose.
If you do end up going though, make sure you bring a poncho or something 'cause it's supposed to rain. 🙁
Gotta love seattle weather. Last week was hot and sunny for the most part.

Regardless, it still feels great having graduated and received a degree...my only regret is not reaching "summa cum laude"...I have to settle with my "magna cum laude". 😛

Well some of us had to settle for regular cum laude
Whats the GPA cutoffs for you for those? For us its 3.5, 3.75, 3.85 for cum, magna, and summa respectively.

This obviously varies from school to school, my schools is 3.5 3.8 and 3.9
agreed. I had absolutely no desire to do it but my parents and grandparents wanted to see me walk.
It was complete BS at my school. They did it by % in each college.... top 10%, 5%, 2.5%. Since I was in the College of Sciences I was compared against everyone in the college, nursing majors, psychology majors, countless others.
Cut-offs were 3.78 - 3.87 - 3.93
Being in an incredibly difficult pre-med major I sat there and watched as people with easier majors were honored while I was not. You could get a 3.75 at my school with a degree in Biochemistry and you wouldn't even get Cum Laude..... I thought it was insulting

I didn't walk....and do not regret it. It was just more money really.
For my college, the cutoffs were 3.5, 3.75, and 3.9 (graduated with a 3.82).😀
