Walmart is asking some of its 16,000 pharmacists across the U.S. to voluntarily take pay cuts and reduce their working hours in a bid to reduce costs.

called a buddy of mine who works there.....upper level already sending out texts and emails saying the article is false. He has been with company for a while. Every pharmacist at 1 time had 80 hours, excellent overlap every day. All techs full time with 40 hours a week., plus had 2 to 3 floaters per district to cover. Fast forward some stores now only have single coverage, no floaters, and 1 or 2 if you are lucky techs that are full time, all the rest part time. Not suddenly, but definitely happened and will continue to happen. He said if covid didn't come along, they would continue to have layoffs for senior pharmacists. But suspects that will be back as well. Probably after flu season🙄

they own their own pbm, how can they not keep enough money to bank? It's getting to the point that the whole system is collapsing from austerity.

Oddly enough, the bean counters at hospital systems are discounting hire retail pay and extrapolating urban saturation to suburban city environs. We can't hire and when we do, they turn down the offer because of pay problems.
