That is Walgreens around here. There is no reason it should take an hour and a half to get through.

the $4 generic is crazy BUT i dont care because i'm still taking my own sweet time filling prescriptions and making sure everyone is getting the right medicine and using them safely. if u want CHEAP drugs u have to WAIT! hahahaa.....wha'ts more important than giving the right medicine to the right patient?!
We dont fill a lot of scripts a day...still the low 100s but we do get a lot of phone calls and i LOVE telling them no, it is not a generic, no the cash price is $435, no, simvastatin is not $4, no control substances are not $4.....etc

My girlfriend (she's a pharmacist) worked for them for a couple of years, then quit. She will never step foot in the place again. They really didn't treat her well at all, the district manager was an incompetent jerk, the store managers would hassle her about the merchandise in front of the pharmacy not being faced up on the shelf correctly....She still get's mad talking about it. Stay away.

I've worked at two different stores and have worked under two different DMs. I've never had a problem and they've really catered to my needs (I guess because I'm their intern, but they know that I'm not leaning towards retail). I've had no problems with store managers either. They pretty much leave us alone. I guess it really depends on your district and DM.

Couple of things firstly how good is their computer system- connexus.Are there any pain areas in this system and typically what is the average time taken to process a new Rx fill at walmart. Is it better than other stores -walgreens,CVS,Rite aid....Walmart seems to brag a lot about their Connexus system while they recruit pharmacist.

Finally. what is the level of automation/technology they use in their stores.

Yes. with or without insurance, it is $4. The computer automatically adjust the copay to $4.

There's always pros and cons working at different pharmacies. I worked and did my rotations at many different pharmaciesbefore (Eckerds, Riteaid, and etc). I ahve to say connexus is the best. It is this program that i do not want to quit walmart no matter how bad they treat their employees or how rude some customers are because it is "walmart". I'm lucky to have an excellent district manager though. 🙂
The system is very safe and easy to use. My favorite part is the tracking system because you just have to hit F6, type in either the patient's last name or rx# and it will tell u where the prescription is instead of searching all over the pharmacy for it... for example if someone calls and ask if they script is ready or if their MD call in any prescriptions u can just hit the F6 button and do a name search and it will tell u whether the script is ready or at input/fill station/pickup/etc. I also like how we can easily change or resubmit an insurance claim without going through all sorts of annoying process.
However, i do not like this extra step of checking a drug inventory before you do a partial fill because the computer wants to you type in how many tablets we have on the shelf before printing a label.
but over all, i do like this system a lot. 👍

I know someone who worked at both walgreens and walmart before but he prefers walmart system. *shrug*
I cant say anything because i dont know how walgreens system works.

anyone with any other information? I am considering working for them. How is floating, the DM said I would have to do this for awhile since there are openings for a permanent store.

floating isn't a bad deal at all. if you're an hourly floater....which the majority are, you'll be getting paid for travel time and will be getting 44 cents per mile cash. some people actually prefer floating to having a store.
