Welcome to the forums.

So you have no community service other than athletics coach (including temple involvement)? When did you start teaching 6th grade as a non traditional applicant?
Thank you! That is correct, I had community service during high school but I was under the impression I should only add things from college and beyond. My only community service as of now is the athletics coaching, I was not involved with my temple enough to put it on the application. I graduated in May 2024, and started working as a teacher in August 2024. My plan has always been to apply for dental school and teaching is acting as a fill in job right now.

If this is for an application next year, you have time to get involved in food distribution (bank or pantry), housing rehabilitation (Habitat), or job/tax preparation. I would volunteer with seniors or veterans since you have "kids" down pretty well. Volunteer with NCMOM and other opportunities with the state or regional dental society.

I submitted my applications for this cycle, but I recognize I submitted on the later end an I am also missing/lacking in certain areas of my application. I will definitely plan to get involved with volunteer work this year and those are some great suggestions. Thank you!

I attended the AADSAS GoDental Virtual fair and attended the meeting for nearly all the schools that are on my list. Other than that I have not done any volunteering or shadowing at dental schools.

why colorado?
why meharry?

why colorado?
why meharry?
Colorado: I have family that lives in Aurora and I like the city/Denver, my stats line up enough where it is not a crazy reach, and they have research focuses that line up with the specific research I want to do.
Meharry: My stats are competitive, I liked Nashville last time I visited and could see myself living there, and their vision focuses on patient centered clinics and interdisciplinary research which I know most schools have but it is something I made sure the schools I applied to have because I want to get involved that way. Also it is within reasonable driving distance of home
