Date of submission: plan to submit late June
Overall GPA: 3.65
Science GPA:
3.63
Bio-Chem-Physics GPA:
3.65
DAT score (include AA and all sections):
PAT: 20, QR: 23, RC: 24, BIO: 18, GC: 19, ORGO: 20, TS: 19, AA: 21
State of Residence: CA
Undergrad Attended: First year at CC in California, then transferred to Cornell
Major: Bio
Minor: None
Minority? No
Reapplicant? No
Nontrad? No
Shadowing Experience: around 100 hrs total from 2 general dentists
Volunteering Experience: around 100 hrs of tutoring elementary students, blood drive volunteer, pre-health club volunteer activities...
Employment: around 2000 hours of waiter in a restaurant, started working right after high school
Research: around 600 hrs from 2 different research labs; presented to faculties at the end of each research, Idk if they count as "research presentation experience"
Other Extracurriculars: pre-dental club, pre-health club
Have you volunteered/shadowed/attended events at any dental schools? Went to a few online info session
Relevant Honors or Awards: NSF Scholars program at CC, around $10,000 scholarship award to support students transferring to a 4-year university.
LOR type and strength: 2 bio professors from CC, 1 general dentist, 1 Stanford Professor I did research with; not sure about strength, but I'm sure they're not bad
School list:

UCSF, UCLA, UOP, Western, Cali North State, BU (unsure), NYU, USC, Touro, Case Western, Midwestern both AZ and IL, ASDOH (unsure), NOVA, LECOM, UMICH, UNLV, Roseman

Any suggestions for my application and school list? I'm hoping to attend a school in CA or NY, but I'm happy as long as I'm able to get in to one school. Are there any safety schools I can add? Or are there any schools that should be removed from the list?

Anything helps. Thanks!

Dental safety schools don't really exist. I would be surprise if NYU and USC don't take a solid look at you, but the question is whether you can afford going to either program.

School list: I don't know if your metrics click with Michigan, Pacific, or Roseman; I would prefer stronger metrics.

IMO, OP is not out of the woods for roseman

UOP, UCLA, UCSF and UMich are reaches though...

Thanks for the reply. I just looked at the admission statistics for each school and found schools that align with my stats. I'll probably remove UMich from the list. I would like to try and apply all of the schools in CA, just to have a shot. I'm kind of concerned about my shadowing and volunteering hours.

you get interview invites and acceptances if you have mission fit with a school
"align with my stats" is not mission fit
both midwesterns and both at-stills place a high value on volunteering/service
the florida schools show no geographical fit...
