  • Research Experience: ~400 hours in a neurological research lab for a paid internship (w/ a Poster Presentation), ~300 hours in a cardiovascular exercise lab for college credit.
  • Publications/Abstracts/Posters (include how you were credited e.g. first author, second author, etc.): Poster presentation in 2017 as a neurological research intern for university biology faculty and fellow researchers.
  • Clinical Experience (paid or volunteer): 200 hours volunteering at IMU at local hospital, 150 hours volunteering at physical rehab center, currently training to be scribe (expected hours by matriculation: 1,000+ hours)
  • Physician Shadowing: 30 hours with a vascular surgeon MD, 30 hours with pediatrician MD, currently looking to shadow a DO.
  • Non-Clinical Volunteering: 100 hours (between cleaning local beaches, making sandwiches for the homeless), ~200 hours currently volunteering at the Crisis Text-Line.
  • Other Extracurricular Activities: Recreational trumpet/ukulele player and plays in a band with friends

  • I know applying MD is a waste of time seeing as how my gpa and mcat with a 122 cars is garbage but I want to also apply DO. Do I even have a chance at any DO school at this point???

Schools in regions with large Hispanic populations are looking for Hispanic applicants who are fluent in Spanish.

I'm not as sanguine as the wise Faha. Chances for MD will be best at your FL schools. Otherwise, I agree with Faha's DO list. Add all Touros, both Westerns, KCOM
But do you think I have a shot at DO with my stats?
