WAMC 3.69 GPA / 508 MCAT

Hello! I'm planning on applying for the 2023-2024 cycle, so all hours are projected for a May/June 2023 submission.

1. GPA: cGPA is currently 3.69 and sGPA of 3.66 (I am considering taking a 1 credit class to try and boost my cGPA to a 3.70)
2. MCAT: Current score 508 (126/127/126/129), old score of 503
3. Residence: MD resident (from MA, would like to go back to the Northeast if possible)
4. Race/Ethnicity: White
5. Undergrad university: School in DC (none of the three with medical schools, unfortunately)
6. Clinical: This is where I think I can make up for my stats. I’ve got about 5,500 hours of volunteer EMT/paramedic, about 2,000 hours of paid clinical as an ER tech, and about 300 for a summer camp health officer position (also might be starting another paid clinical position soon).
7. Research: About 600 hours, I’m currently doing wet lab work and we will also be starting work with human subjects soon. No publications, but there is a slight possibility I could have one before the next application cycle.
8. Shadowing: Working on it! I’m hoping to have ~60 hours.
9. Non clinical volunteering: About 300 hours at an animal shelter and fostering from the shelter
10. Other extracurriculars: 2,000 hours as an adjunct TA at my university, ~500 hours of ceramics (would list as artistic endeavors), possibly listing rock-climbing as a hobby, about 400 hours of other leadership from my fire station
11. Honors/awards: No awards
12. Other: I ended up taking a post-bacc year to finish my pre-med requirements (physics and biochem) since I was in paramedic school for my senior year of college. I have one W on my transcript from my senior fall semester when I found out that my paramedic class would overlap with a class (withdrew just a day after the add/drop period ended). Ideally would do an MD/MPH program but I’ll take whatever I can get.

Remove reaches including Kaiser, Boston University. Also remove Geisinger since they admit few applicants who are not from that region. You could add these schools:
