Hello, This is my first post so please don't be too harsh on me. What are my chances of getting in a (one) med school (MD) in the United States and could someone help me make a list of schools? Also, which DO schools should I apply to? Here are my stats

Undergraduate
Top Public University in the United States
California Resident
Over-Represented Minority
Male
Community College GPA 3.66
University GPA 3.8 (will NOT do post-bacc)
Combined GPA 3.73
Biology B.S.
Strong Upward GPA trend of 1 year of 4.0 with some A+'s
MCAT 509 (128/127/127/127) I will NOT retake, brain turned into jello afterwards

Academic Honors
Community College:
Graduated With Honors
University: Cum Laude & Departmental Honors, top 20% of my class by GPA

Extracurriculars

Shadowing
: ~8 hours
I shadowed a geriatrician for about a day and got a letter of rec, but I volunteered in the geriatrics department for 6 weeks. This involved shadowing nurses and administrators and actually performing minor medical procedures like flu shots and ear irrigations.

Research
: ~30 hours (3 Months)
I was in a lab that primarily taught biomedical diagnostic tests and immunology. PI is a MD and the purpose of the lab is to get me into med school according to the PI. I got a letter of rec. No publications or poster. Lab is somewhat famous though.

Additionally I had two upper division undergraduate courses that involved ecology fieldwork research (could someone tell me if this counts as research for the AMCAS?)

Clinical Volunteering: ~ 450 hours (1 Year)
I was a student "ambassador" to a major university teaching hospital. I took patients to their rooms and transported wheelchair bound patients.

Non-Clinical Volunteering: ~ 60 hours (6 Months)
Tutoring Asian American elementary school kids in a campus organization. Counts as assisting a underprivileged group since many kids do not speak fluent English.

Leadership: ~ 10 hours
I lead a group of freshmen students for volunteer day for our University and we built benches for a local middle school.

Please help me generate a list of schools and what are my chances for a MD acceptance.

Hey Faha are my EC's sufficient? I'm a bit concerned about the amount of shadowing.

Might as well apply to all the UCs also.
I had similar stats and got an II to UCSD

Going off most recent AAMC data just based on stats you have a 53.8% chance of getting an acceptance.

https://www.aamc.org/download/321508/data/factstablea23.pdf

If you look at previous data (tighter stat range) you have a 57.7% chance of getting an acceptance.

https://www.aamc.org/download/321516/data/factstablea24-3.pdf

Your ECs (besides your clinical volunteering ) seem to be lacking. Your research is low - but research is not as important depending on the schools you apply too. Shadowing is low as Faha said, your non-clinical is good. Leadership is low as well. Are you planning to apply this coming cycle?

If asked during an interview “if we had to decide between you and another applicant with similar stats (MCAT & GPA) why should we chose you?” What would you say?
