What's up everyone, I am here to see what my chances are for the 2025-2026 cycle, as well as any feedback or suggestions on my application. I switched later into premed from another field. I would appreciate any feedback as I go into this cycle.
1. Undergrad at large public 3.85 GPA; 3.82 sGPA
2. 518 mcat; 2nd percentile Casper
3. OH resident
4. male
5 Clinicals: 210hours
6. 190 hrs research (no pubs)
7. 140hours Shadowing in wide variety of specialties
8. 525hrs in a non medical job
9. 140 hours volunteering
10. Other activities: position with my social fraternity of 210 brothers, intramural sports
11. Awards: all regional high school athletics, Dean's List
12. Hobbies/misc: Trilingual with a wide variety of hobbies/interests.
13. Story of how I chose medicine centers around ultimate responsibility for patients and desire to stay educated...I have put much effort into writing and I feel it reflects my voice well.
I applied to 40 MD programs — a mix of Ohio in-state options, mid-tier academic schools in the Midwest and Southeast, and a few T20 reaches like Pitt and Mayo. I leaned toward schools with strong clinical training and a reputation for balanced students
