WAMC 518/3.91 undergrad, CA, struggling to balance my list

Haha the typo in your title just about gave me a heart attack!

Hawaii and Oregon admit few non residents with no connection to the state. You should receive several interviews from the other schools on your list.

Thank you so much for your insight!! I grew up competitively hula dancing and have a deep appreciation for Hawaiian culture because of my dance community (been to Hawaii every year since I was young too). I also have very close family (practically my sister) in Oregon. Do you think these connections are strong enough to consider applying? Thanks again!!
Even native Hawaiians and military formerly stationed in Hawaii have trouble getting in!

Got it, thank you for the feedback! I'll probably hold off on applying there then. Do you have any other thoughts on the school list I posted? Thanks!!!!

Those are not connections for the purpose of medical school admissions.

What type of SE asian are you identifying? Where did you grow up in California?

Why are you applying knowing you have a serious weakness in your application?
Not sure if I feel comfortable answering the first two questions, but regarding the last one, I know it is a weakness, but I didn’t think it would be detrimental? I thought I could work fill my non-clinical gap this year while applying. Do you think otherwise?
