Hi everyone, I was hoping to get some advice and feedback from others regarding my chances and school list for this upcoming cycle. I'm open to thoughts and opinions from anyone, especially if there was an oversight on my part. Thank you in advance to all!
- cGPA: 3.85 (Trend: 3.87, 3.82, 3.79, 4.00); sGPA: 3.90
- MCAT: 514 (129, 126, 129, 130), only attempt
- OH resident
- First-gen Mexican American
- Undergrad at Hopkins
- 100 hrs volunteering in an ED and IMCU in OH and MD
- 200 hrs as a patient advocate w/ a predominantly underserved patient population
- Research in two labs for a total of 1200 Hours:
- 800 in one w/ 1 mid-author Publication (Neuro Research)
- 400 in summer internship, poster presentation (opioid research),
- Shadowing:110 hours in ENT (both clinic and OR), pediatrics
- Non-clinical volunteering: 120 Hours (soup kitchen + food drives)
- Other extracurricular activities:
- ~8000 hours working at my family's restaurant (over breaks + continuing from high school) w/ strong leadership from it
- Leadership as a tour supervisor for admissions
- Involvement in on-campus clubs, no leadership positions, but participated significantly
- Taking a gap year: continuing to do research, volunteering, and working full time as a clinical assistant (~projecting 1000-1500 or so hours)
