WAMC Canadian: for peace of mind

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Was your MS a research MS?

Invest in MSAR and apply to schools that accepted more than 1-2 internationals.
It was a research MS.
I did get MSAR; however, that information can be quite ambiguous sometimes. For example, if a school considers Canadians to be OOS, would that also reflect on the MSAR data? For the official AAMC data, would Canadians who matriculated in a "Canadian friendly" school count towards the 100 or so international matriculants every year? Would you have any insight on that?

Hey there, I am a canadian applicant, this is my first cycle and I was just accepted to VCU. I think you have a great shot at being accepted somewhere. If anything, US schools seem to prefer more clinical hours then you have but honestly I think you have some fantastic other experiences to make up for it. I'm no expert but when I was formulating my list it really became exhausting to try and figure out if canadians were considered OOS or international; honestly as long as it says "accepts canadians: yes" I say go for it if you have the resources and time to do so.
