Hello! Seeking some advice if possible regarding my chances of getting an MD acceptance this cycle.

    2. Projected 200 hours at local rehab center --> starting next week
  7. Research experience and productivity
    1. 1800 hours paid at Cleveland Clinic, 2 abstracts that I co-authored at ISCT (corresponded w presentations there but I didn't present, I was 2nd author on one abstract and 3rd author on the other), co-authored an additional abstract presented at another conference (i did not present it)

    2. Dean's Honors List for 2 semesters
    3. Awarded 1st place for Capstone presentation at undergraduate symposium
  12. Anything else not listed you think might be important
    1. COVID IA about being in the wrong building with friends - only received a warning but still listed it on application.
    2. Anthropology major
    3. Also applying to DO schools - received IIs from LECOM and NYITCOM so far.
Thank you all for the help! I really appreciate it.

Looks like you’re in a good spot. 3.6sci/3.7cum isn’t perfect, but it’s not a dealbreaker, especially paired with a solid MCAT. Tons of people get in with similar stats.

Research is definitely your strongest card (Cleveland Clinic + T5 + pubs/abstracts). Shadowing is diverse, non-clinical service is solid, and you’re adding more clinical now which shows you’re aware of the gap. Some schools may raise an eyebrow at the clinical hours being a little light, but you’re clearly addressing it.

Already getting DO IIs is a great safety net. For MD, I’d expect looks from a lot of the mid-tiers and research-heavy places that like applicants with your background (think Albany etc.). Don’t count on the T20s, but you’ve got enough in your app for MD to be realistic.

Bottom line: You’re going to be a doctor. Very likely DO at the least, and I’d put your MD chances this cycle at better than coin-flip. Now it’s just about keeping your interviews strong and showing adcoms you’re not just a lab rat but actually want to work with patients. Good luck!

My worry is that b/c I'm an ORM my stats will shunt me solidly in the DO range, I'd like to go MD if I can afford it lol -- I didn't bother applying to the T20's, maybe 1-2 just as a "hail mary" but I'm fine with any MD at all.

Welcome to the forums.

When was the MCAT retake? Where did you apply (both MD and DO)?
MCAT retake was May 2025, and I just put up my school list for MD.

DO: MSUCOM, UNECOM, LECOM, NYITCOM-NY, PCOM, CCOM, VCOM, Western, Touro, Touro-CA, DMUCOM
Received IIs from LECOM + NYITCOM - NY.

You applied to many state public schools that admit few non residents with your stats and no connection to the state. Other schools are unrealistic with your MCAT scores. I suggest adding these schools this week:
Alice Walton
Roseman
Ponce (St. Louis)
Methodist (when it opens)

I may apply to AWSOM and Roseman, but I did go to undergrad in OH and am a NY resident.

That's an irrational fear. I am sure that many ORM students attend MD programs with similar stats as yours. Your success depends on your mission fit with schools on your list. I agree with Faha that many OOS publics on your list don't seem to be good fits. I would think being an anthro major would help you a little. Again, I don't have your full application, so I suggest you just need to trust the process.

Thank you for your advice! I will keep this in mind.
