BCP GPA: 3.59

DAT score: AA22 TS24 PAT25 QR22 RC19 Bio23 GC24 OC23
State of Residence: international

Undergrad Attended: schools in Washington

Minority? No
Reapplicant? Yes. Applied late Oct 2020 to 7 schools. Did not have any interviews
Nontrad? No

Shadowing Experience: About 100 hours shadowing a general dentist
Volunteering Experience: 100hrs+ at community church and food bank

Employment: 2 years of experience working at a biotech company. Currently working at a non-profit bioscience research organization for 6 months

Research: 2 months summer internship in junior year. My job is also a research role.

LOR type and strength: 1 dentist (strong), 2 science professors (moderate), and 1 employer (strong)

Things not stated elsewhere: I went to community college for first two years and then transferred to 4-year college later. Took most of my prerequisite science classes at the community college.

As stated above, I have credits from community college. Is this going to reduce my chance getting interviews? I am planning to submit a stronger personal statement, but does reapplication hurt my chance? How can I improve my chance of getting accepted based on the information provided above?

School list:
  • Tufts, Boston, NYU, Columbia, USC, U Penn, Pitt, Howard, Western U
  • Columbia, UCSF, UCLA, Maryland, Michigan, U of Pacific Arthur - I know these are hard to reach, but still want to give it a shot
So far, I have 15 schools on my list. But would love to add as many schools as possible, as long as I meet their citizenship requirement.

Thank you all for your time reading this. Any suggestions are welcome! Good luck to everyone applying this cycle!

Consider university of Detroit at mercy, I’m an international student I got accepted there with a slightly lower DAT score! Your school list is pretty decent

Thank you for your response. Do you mind sharing which schools you applied and got interviews? That would be super helpful, too! Really appreciate that.
