Hi everyone,

Longtime lurker looking to apply this cycle.

Cumulative GPA:
3.80

Science GPA:
I went to school for a year over a decade ago and had a bad time with chemistry which puts my overall at a 3.4. Since returning to school, my Science GPA is a 3.6

MCAT Scores:
500 (123, 127, 121, 129) & 502 (122, 128, 124, 128)

Demographics:
31, male, Minnesota resident, 1st generation college student. Otherwise not URM

School:
Attending University of Minnesota

Research:

Psych research on reintegrating veterans: 800 hours. No publications.
Clinical Research in a Level 1 trauma center: 1000 hours (expected). No publications as of yet.

Clinical:
Assisted our medics in triage, and emergency situations over the course of 3 deployments. Clinical Research in a Level 1 trauma center: 1000 hours (expected)

Physician shadowing:
Pediatrics:
16 hours
Family Medicine: 24 hours
Emergency Medicine: Every shift at the hospital turns into shadowing, ~>400 hours

Non-clinical volunteering:

Local homeless shelter: 30 hours
Helped create and run a charity event to benefit service dogs for veterans: 160 hours

Extracurricular activities:

President of Student Veteran Association: 1 year
Senior Adviser of Student Veteran Association: 1 year
Outreach Officer of Student Veteran Association: 2 years
Editor for an Undergraduate Psychology Journal

Other info: 11 years in the Army, interested in rural medicine and commissioning into the Public Health Service to work for Indian Health Service.
