Hello everyone ! I graduated in 2022 from Rutgers and worked in lab for 2 years full time (~4,200 hours) with 2 papers about to be published. During college and after I got about ~600 hours of clinical experience as a nursing assistant (bed side care in a cardiac step down unit, phlebotomy as well). I just completed an SMP at Rutgers with a 3.95 to address the poor grades from undergrad. I took the MCAT last year before I started the SMP with 508, I am working on a retake soon because I am more confident at this point that I can do better. Service hours is kind of lacking with only 50 hours roughly at my local mosque's soup kitchen.

I am being realistic, I realize my stats aren't great. I am not expecting to go to Harvard, but do I think I have actually shown real growth since college. Any suggestions of MD schools that won't screen me out immediately because of my undergrad GPA would be appreciated!

Currently considering: RWJ, NJMS, Hackensack (DO), Drexel, Tufts, University of Vermont

Your low non clinical volunteering hours will limit your chances for interviews (some schools screen at 150 hours and you have 50 hours at the soup kitchen). I suggest these MD schools with your stats:
Your 3 New Jersey state public schools
Alice Walton
Belmont
Roseman
Methodist (when it opens)
Albany
Quinnipiac
Eastern Virginia
Drexel
You best chances are at DO schools and I suggest these:
ROWANCOM
Touro-NY
NYITCOM
LECOM (all schools)
PCOM (all schools)
DUQCOM
WVSOM
MU-COM
CCOM
DMU-COM
ATSU-KCOM
KCU-COM
AZCOM
TUNCOM
UIWSOM
