Hey there!

So I'm 23 and currently serving in the Army. I'm on a medical hold waiting on a discharge, which means I'm basically sitting around doing nothing for a year while they do paperwork. I'd love to get a head start on my bachelor's degree instead of just watching paint dry the whole time lol. My only issue is that I can only do online school while I'm still active duty. Is this going to be an issue down the line? I know how competitive veterinary schools are, and while I have full confidence in myself that I'll have the grades, I worry that if I'm completing those important sciences classes and labs online that it won't look as good to admissions offices. Should I just suck it up and wait until I can go to classes in-person? Or can I knock some of these out?

Thanks!

Your best bet is to reach out to the schools you think you’ll apply to in the future. At the very least you may be able to get away with taking your general education requirements online (humanities, english, etc.).
