Please help with my school list for this upcoming cycle as it looks like I will have to reapply. Also if you see any areas of improvement, I would love to make my app the best it can be!

ORM

B.S. in Biochemistry, cGPA 3.89, sGPA 3.89
MCAT: 496 -> 505 -> retaking this spring and working really hard to get a 515
National Chemistry Award from undergrad institution

Research:
-400 hours with summer internship (with poster)
-250 hours undergrad 1 year of research (and took poster to national conference)
-6000+ hours gap year(s) job as a research assistant (going on 3 years, just got my first publication, more to come soon)

Clinical volunteering:
-75 hours at a hospital during undergrad
-380 hours in high school (I know they say not to mention stuff from high school but I am tempted to anyway, let me know what you think)

Non-clinical volunteering:
-1400 hours working with the homeless mostly, some tutoring in schools, all through the same program. The only problem with this is that his technically was a work-study, so I did get paid (very little and that's not why I did it), will be one of top 3 most important experiences
-50 hours in a homeless shelter over a summer

Leadership: 300+ hours leadership position in 2 clubs for 2 years—both relating to organizing and running service projects for the clubs

Shadowing: 20 hours abroad and 54 hours in the US in many specialties

LoR are great. Obviously I haven’t read them but these people know me very well.

I do have an IA for an alcohol incident in my sophomore year. Never happened again.

2022 cycle: Applied to 16 MD schools, got all secondary's submitted by early August, 1 II which turned into an R. All Rs, no waitlists or holds. There were only 4 top schools and the rest were mid/low, but still above my MCAT, which is probably the major reason for the Rs.

This upcoming cycle: Plan to retake the MCAT, still working as a research assistant (with hopefully more papers published soon). Would love to get more clinical or non-clinical volunteering but I unfortunately won’t have time until after secondary's are submitted.

Aiming to apply to around 25 MD schools and 3-5 DO schools (crying thinking about how much that costs, but it’ll be worth it in the end). Using MSAR to work on a list, but figured I could use some help!

Looking for any advice I can get! Thanks!

What's your state of residence?

It's honestly very difficult to recommend a school list without an updated MCAT score - a 515 would make your app competitive for a lot of mid- and high-tier schools but a 508 retake would be a much different story. Also, the consensus is to not include high school hours unless you continued the activity in college.
