    2. Have a strong LOR from the surgeon I worked with and shadowed

Was hoping to apply to a good range of schools because of my low sGPA. and a few D.O schools.

So far I have for MD:

UCD
UCI
UCLA
Dartmouth
MCW
USC
Miami Miller
UNLV
NOVA MD
NYMC
Wayne State
Tulane
Rosalind Franklin
Penn State
Hackensack
George Washington
Wake Forest
St Louis
Jefferson Kimmel
Western Michigan
Einstein
USF
Rush
CSUM

For DO schools:
Western-CA
Touro-NV
LECOM
PCOM

Would greatly appreciate any advice and or better school recommendations. Also considering taking a DIY post bacc to boost my sGPA and due to my downward trend. Or if I should do an SMP to help my chances.

I appreciate the school list. Do you think that I should focus on improving my sGPA at the same time of applying by doing a DIY post bacc or it should be fine?

What coursew would you take for your DIY option? What happened in that last undergrad year? I'm not convinced SMP is necessary though it could help.
Honestly just developed poor study habits, I would cram, pull all nighters, was afraid to ask for help in classes I was struggling in. No real explanation why other than not disciplining myself when I needed to at the time. Looking back I definitely should have asked for help right when I realized I wasn't doing so well instead of just trying to bulldoze through the material.

I think now after self analyzing my grades and study habits while taking the MCAT, I realized how important a good study routine is and the importance of discipline and asking for help.

I got a C in genetics and biochemistry so was thinking about retaking those. And probably taking Physiology, Immunology, and other med school-like courses.
