Hello,

I've already begun applying, but I'm scared my list is too top heavy, and I am very afraid of having to reapply. Should I add more mid/lower tier schools? I'm at 30 total right now. I know I have good stats and hours, but I didn't discover crispr or anything ya know

What are the details of your non-clinical volunteering? Are letters alright?

Your targets are all T20s basically lol, I wouldn't call any of those targets even if you did discover crispr.

Could consider Ohio State, St Louis U, Dartmouth, Vermont.

Chapel Hill favors instate NC residents. Wouldn't bother with them imo, and also with Wake which might yield protect with your stats.

What's your PREview score? California schools favor PREview. (Great job on Casper.)

How strong are your Georgia ties?

Details for...
  1. Shadowing experience and specialties represented: 75 hours
  2. Non-clinical volunteering: 700 hours

Holistic review matters as admissions is not a transactional process. I don't see any reason for getting an invitation to interview based on mission fit. What is it?

UNC admit few non residents with no connection to the state. Wake Forest will "yield protect" with your stats. You could add these schools:
Hofstra
Einstein
Tufts
Georgetown
St. Louis
Cincinnati

Volunteered with harm reduction program (150 hrs) and am an animal shelter foster/volunteer (550)

Lol I agree, it has been hard to find a balance between target and yield protection. I am hesitant to apply to those four schools because I want to live in a giant city

I have very strong ties to NC/Chapel Hill so still gonna shoot my shot, and rip I already turned in wake secondary. Thank you so much for the advice ❤️

Didn’t take preview as my schools didn’t need it. Thanks for the Casper love and for all the help 🥹❤️

Georgia is my home, parents are still there. I'm only a CA resident because I live and work here post-grad

Mission fit is mostly community health focused, and I think I convey that pretty well on my secondaries and through my ECs which I was super vague about in this post, sorry I am paranoid

Both my parents went to UNC and my aunt lives in Chapel Hill now, so still shooting my shot! Unfortunately already submitted WF secondary 🙁 I struggled to find a balance between safety and yield protect

Thank you for the recs <3

Did you graduate from high school in Chapel Hill? How are your defining community health?

For top 20s? You're pack fodder. Nothing special by their stratospheric standards, but still in the running. It's a crapshoot there. Anywhere else you're a strong candidate. With ten midtiers and your state schools plus 10-15 top 20s you should have several interviews. From there...I'm thinking you should get in if you're not unlucky or have bad interview skills.
