I know not having the MCAT is going to be hard to judge here. I can’t take it too soon due to a recent heart problem that will impact my ability for exam performance. But my primary writings are ready to go and will need to submit far before my MCAT comes out. I’m looking to apply for 30-35 schools (avoiding schools in NY and CA for cost), so any advice on additional schools would be great! And would anyone please chance me for UMich, my partner is very ill so I prefer to stay in Michigan. Very much appreciate the help!

You could utilize one of the MI schools to get the process started for verification. Your extensive clinical experience is good.

UNC takes a very small number OOS students. Rush is not really a fit for you as their median stats are a good deal lower and their accepted students have 1000 hours of non-clinical volunteering. English tutoring is more suited for the teaching category on AMCAS.

Please let us know when you get your official score back so we can provide a list.

Non-clinical volunteering: Boost your food bank hours to at least 200 hours. 150 helps you avoid elimination due to too few hours, but you need more if you want a chance against applicants with comparable metrics to yours.

Your tutoring and website work won't add to your service orientation competencies. That's a bit disappointing. Hence the advice you need to bump food bank at least to 200 hours. You have a lot that is interesting about you, but you are mixing activities together in your "Other activities" header above.

Thank you for the advice on Rush and UNC, will take them off the list. I didn't know that you only need one school to submit the application, that is very helpful so I don't put schools that I might not get in if I would have a bad score on MCAT. And I will definitely follow up with the score once it comes out!

That is great advice; I haven't thought about the volunteering events are not representative and the tutoring is not considered as service orientated. Should have done more research instead of doing what I think it's right but not covering the requirement. I will have more than 200 hrs by the end of July (starting a full-time job soon doesn't help), is there anyway I can select 7/2023 for the end date on the activity section?
