Hi all! I have been crafting my school list and am wondering how many schools I should apply to on AMCAS. I am a traditional, ORM originally from CA, but go to a private school in TX and have residency in TX. I plan on applying to all schools in TMDSAS, as well as in California, but I am wondering if I should apply to more. I hear schools are not very OOS-friendly for TX residents. However, if I get into a school in Texas, I will probably go because of the cheap tuition. What are my chances this cycle?
Thanks in advance!

You should receive multiple interviews from TMDAS schools. You can apply to TCU too.

For OOS MD, I would just apply to schools you would actually consider because as you said, you would prefer the cheap tuition of a public TX school. UNC and Rutgers take few OOS students without ties. Riverside is for students from the IE. Davis is probably not worth an app either as it is heavily IS. Your tie would likely have to be being from the nearby area as opposed to the rest of CA.
