SUMMARY:
I'm a little concerned with my lower amounts of clinical and non-clinical impactful volunteering hours, especially since I only recently became a scribe. I think that the stories I have behind each of the activities is pretty meaningful so I am hoping that will partially make up for the lower amounts of hours on my application.

I know my application is research heavy, but my MCAT is on the lower end for most of the T20s so I'm a little unsure how to craft my school list. To give you an idea of my narrative, I want to go into an internal medicine speciality (most likely Neuro or GI) with an emphasis on geriatric medicine since I have found my clinical work with elderly patients the most meaningful. I know how to code and have built several AI/ML projects for individuals with cognitive impairments, including a funded research project I’ll be presenting as a poster soon. A huge part of why I want to become a physician is because it allows me to integrate these projects into real-life patient care settings in order to improve outcomes and accessibility. I’m not sure if this really counts as a “hook,” and I’d love some advice on whether I should make it a larger part of my primary application.

You have a good list and should receive several interviews. Remove UC Riverside unless you are from that region. Remove Rush since they expect many more clinical and non clinical volunteering than you have. You could add any of these schools:
Colorado
UMass
Tufts
Vermont
Jefferson
USF Morsani
St. Louis

Welcome to the forums.

Stats should get you to a lot of attention, but your story needs to fit mission. So far, I think you intend to leverage a rural mission but you wish to attend a top brand school. You must resolve this inconsistency as many brand-name schools won't consider you a strong fit unless you clarify your intention to immerse yourself in academic medicine (comp sci) en route to rural health. What resources and programs are you seeking? The UC schools and their PRIME programs will be very selective about your authenticity in pursuing their tracks.
