Hey everyone! I just got my MCAT back. I got a good score, but in all honesty it was several points below what I was expecting (and only 1 point above my diagnostic). I'm thinking about restructuring my school list and wanted your advice.

For context, I am applying this cycle and am expecting my application to be verified by the end of next week. Please try not to quote this! Thank you!

1. cGPA and sGPA: 4.00 cGPA, 4.00 sGPA

2. MCAT: 517 (130/127/129/131)

3. State of residence or country of citizenship (if non-US): New York

4. Ethnicity and/or race: ORM (Indian)

5. Undergraduate institution: Private R2 T100

6. Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer):
a) Hospital Volunteer: 240 hours
b) Hospice Volunteer: 80 hours (+80 projected hours) (this particular hospice home works primarily with homeless populations, those with substance use disorders, and other vulnerable groups)

7. Research experience and productivity:
a) Research assistant in an addiction lab at my university: 550 hours
b) Summer research program (Amgen) at T10 medical school: 400 hours
c) Research technician at T50 medical school (neurology/cardiology): 400 hours (+ 200 hours projected)
d) I have 3 posters: one at a symposium w/ my summer research program, one at my university, and one at a national conference.

8. Shadowing experience/specialties represented:
a) 50 hours with a pediatrician
b) 20 hours with a neurologist
c) 12 hours with an interventional cardiologist

9. Non-clinical volunteering:
a) Exhibit facilitator at a kid's science museum (210 hours)

10. Other extracurricular activities (including athletics, military service, gap year activities, leadership, teaching, etc):
a) Fulbright Scholarship: I will be getting my master's during my gap year. My project proposal reflects a specific challenge I experienced as a kid that is also tied into some of my past research; I weaved this into my disadvantaged essay.
b) Editor and writer for my university's student magazine (650 hours)
c) Student Government senator (300 hours)
d) TA/SI for several chemistry and biology courses + mentoring other TAs (1000 hours)
e) Intramural basketball (70 hours)

11. Relevant honors or awards:
a) University Honors Program (top 5% of students)
b) University Award #1: Given to the top 1% of students based on GPA and extracurricular involvement
c) University Award #2: Given to students for extracurricular leadership

(Giant) School List: Please feel free to cut this down; I made a large list while I was waiting for my score, though I've already cut out obvious schools like NYU. I'm assuming most of the top schools are donations?

I appreciate it!

Anyone else have any insight, regarding school list, general chances, etc.?

I think you have a better than even shot for interviews (you have to finish the job to get an A). Hopefully being away from the US won't be a challenge for virtual interviews.

Sounds good! I have spoken with my academic advisors over in my host country and have discussed my plan to apply. They all seem very accommodating, so I hope that goes well!
