WAMC/School List: c3.69, 514

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Small comment:
I'm not sure you're in the metrics ballpark (MCAT) for Mayo and Kaiser, but I have to check the MSAR. What draws you to UCLA?

You took time after graduation for more clinical experience, but how about non-clinical volunteering? We lose the timeline in the WAMC format, and what you did lately may be very important.

Yes, I just double checked MSAR and will likely have to remove Mayo. I am interested in UCLA because of their social justice focus, work with diverse communities, and location.

After graduation, I focused on clinical experience and studying for the MCAT. I also increased my non-clinical volunteering with the non-profit, underserved community-focused organization. I have recently returned to volunteering at the homeless shelter and plan to continue this in the upcoming year.

Thank you for the recommendation list!!

@aquafied @Goro @chilly_md if you could please provide some feedback, that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
Definitely got with Faha’s school list, but I believe UCLA may prove to be difficult given your relative lack of hours in social justice involvement. You appear to be more mission-fit at schools that emphasize service and medical care towards the underserved/marginalized populations, which do appear on Faha’s list.

If you’re concerned with general chances of this cycle, I believe your cycle will be successful due to no shortcomings that I could observe on your current application. You check off the boxes at many places, and as long as you have a constant theme and write your secondaries in accordance to the populations that you focused on in your application, you should receive multiple II’s.

I agree with Faha.

Remove Rush since they look for applicants with nearly 1000 non-clinical volunteer hours. Pitt is too much of a reach imo, especially without any research.
